Answers to the most frequent questions at BooksWanted
Do you accept textbooks?
Absolutely! We love textbooks. We only ask that they are published within the last 10 years.
Do youaccept ex-library books?
Yes, we will happily buy ex-library books, as long as they meet our acceptance guidelines.
We also work with Friends of the Library to help remove surplus books. Please contact us if you’re interested in our recycling services for libraries.
Do you accept book club editions?
No, sorry, we are not able to accept book club editions.
Do you accept books in any condition?
We don’t expect every used book to be pristine, but we cannot accept badly damaged books. For more information on our acceptance criteria please visit our acceptance guidelines.
What is an ISBN?
An ISBN is a 10 or 13 digit number that is used to identify a book. It is most often found on the back of the book near the barcode, or on the copyright page near the start of the book.
Do you accept books without an ISBN?
No, we currently only accept books with an ISBN.
What happens to the books you collect?
We hate seeing a good book go to waste, so we endeavour to find each book a new home through various online marketplaces. Where this is not possible, the books will be either donated to charity or recycled.
Can you always collect books from anywhere in the UK?
Unfortunately not. Our collection service can be dependent on your location and the quantity and nature of the books that you would like collecting.
Do youaccept books from outside the UK
No, currently we only operate within the UK.
Do I need to box up books for collection?
No, don’t worry. We bring our own bags and can remove the books from your shelf while you relax!
I have a large number of books to clear. Can you help?
We often collect books in large numbers from individuals, libraries and charities. Simply let us know how many books you have and we will let you know either way.
